Your journey to Nanaimo


As you prepare to travel from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo (Departure Bay), your trip planning will look a bit different, as all vehicles (including motorcycles and commercial vehicles) will need to book and pay in advance. STEP 1

Prepare to travel

Take a look at the schedule for your dates of travel on our app or website, and determine which sailing works best. Watch our social channels for travel advisories, and see if you can take advantage of one of our Saver fares.

STEP 2

Book your trip

Book and pay for your reservation via our mobile app or website, or by calling our customer service centre. You will get an email confirmation with more information about your booking.

TIP: Waitlist and sailing space alerts will be available starting this fall.

TIP: We are offering a $0 change fee, and additional Saver fares for this route as of October 15.

STEP 3

Check in for your booking

Ensure you arrive within the window of time provided on your email confirmation, and present your booking barcode at the ticket booth to be scanned. The attendant will inform you which lane to pull into. Listen for terminal announcements for time-sensitive information about boarding and sailing.

TIP: Please note that travel lanes may change during construction. Be sure to listen carefully.

STEP 4

Enjoy our onboard amenities

Once you’ve boarded the ferry, enjoy our many onboard amenities, including various food and beverage options, and retail stores which vary per vessel. Our crew can also answer any questions you may have.

TIP: Ferry maps are available on each level to direct you to various areas and amenities on board.

STEP 5

Arrive at your destination

Listen for announcements on when to return to your vehicle when you arrive at your destination. Follow directions from deck crew to disembark, and drive safely. Feel free to leave feedback about your journey via our website, social channels, or through our customer service team.
