Temporary Vessel Replacement
Port McNeill – Alert Bay (Cormorant Island)
– Sointula (Malcolm Island)
October 13, 2025 – March 18, 2026
Prior to the planned Quadra Queen II retirement in 2026, the vessel will provide its final service on our Port McNeill – Alert Bay (Cormorant Island) – Sointula (Malcolm Island) route from October 13, 2025 to March 18, 2026, while the Island Aurora provides service on our Campbell River – Quathiaski Cove (Quadra Island) and Nanaimo Harbour – Descanso Bay (Gabriola Island) routes during our annual refit season.
As the vehicle capacity on the Quadra Queen II is lower than the Island Aurora (approximately 20 vehicles less), customers are encouraged to carpool to minimize potential sailing waits.
A passenger vehicle can be made available on the car deck to provide shelter and warmth for foot passengers who are unable to use the stairs. Those requiring this assistance are asked to call 1-888-223-3779 the day prior to travel so we can ensure space is available.
We recognize some customers will be impacted when travelling on this route, and we thank the community and local businesses in advance for your patience as we work through this required refit period and mitigate impacts to service as much as possible.
