Terminal Upgrades
Heriot Bay (Quadra Island)
and Whaletown (Cortes Island)
May 2025 – January 2026
Starting May 2025, BC Ferries is making key infrastructure investments to support the long-term future of essential ferry service between Quadra Island and Cortes Island. These upgrades are designed to ensure continued safe, reliable operations and prepare for the arrival of an Island Class vessel in summer 2026. The new vessel will enhance service and improve the customer experience for years to come.
During the first phase of construction, scheduled from May 2025 through January 2026, no night work or service disruptions are expected. However, customers and nearby residents may notice increased daytime noise around the terminals.
