Tidal Conditions
Quathiaski Cove (Quadra Island) –
Campbell River (Vancouver Island)

September 2025

Due to tidal conditions between Quathiaski Cove (Quadra Island) and Campbell River (Vancouver Island), some buses, RVs, low bed vehicles and other vehicles (with very low ground clearance or extended overhangs on the rear axle) may be asked to wait for a later sailing, to ensure the safety of the vehicle, the vessel, and the environment during times of extremely low or high tides.

Tides that are below 4 feet or higher than 12 feet change the angle the ferry approaches the loading ramp, and during these times some vehicles are likely to get stuck on the ramp.

To reduce the risk of damage to vehicles, vessels and the environment, crew may ask some vehicles to board at a time when tides allow them to load on and off the vessel safely.

If you plan to travel on the following dates in one of the mentioned vehicle types this month, please arrive outside of the noted sailing times to avoid potential loading issues and extended delays:

  September 14: High 12:40 pm – 2:00 pm, 8:30 pm – 11:00 pm
  September 15: Low 6:30 am – 7:30 am, High 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm
  September 16: Low 7:00 am – 8:00 am, High 1:30 pm – 5:25 pm
  September 17: Low 8:30 am – 9:30 am, High 2:30 pm – 6:00 pm
  September 18: High 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  September 19: High 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm
  September 20: High 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm
